I. INTRODUCTION:
Newuser Doorworks! is a utility for SysOps (System Operators) which makes
the user download certain SysOp (System Operator) defined text files, or
any file really as a Newuser or with a certain security levels. This is
just set up as an external door on your system, and easily run with a few
external programs also mentioned throughout the manual. As you may have
encountered before, a lot of bulletin board utilities or designed for one
specific system and can't be used with anything else, unless someone has
written a conversion utility for it. Newuser Doorworks! takes care of
that problems by using a standard DOOR.SYS file (created by many bulletin
board systems, including GAP, Telegard, and many others, or can also be
created by using DoorMaster, DoorFix, or about any other conversion
program). For Comport (Communication Port) routines, it uses DOORWAY(r).
In the archive NDOOR550.EXE (Self-Extracting Archive), there should be
the following files:
SYSOP.DOC Newuser Doorworks! SysOp Installation Manual (the file you
are reading now).
NDOOR.EXE The main user door .EXE file. (i.e., this file is what
makes the program tick).
REGISTER.DOC Registration Form.
INSTALL.EXE Newuser Doorworks! Configuration and Main Installation
Program. This copies all files within a seperate archive
into the proper directories and then asks you specific
questions about your system.
REVISION.DOC Revision History File (Kind of interesting to read and go
back to see all the bum versions we had that didn't work
at the beginning of DO Doorworks forming.
DO_BETA.DOC Beta Application to become a DO Doorworks Beta Site and
test Newuser Doorworks!. At the end of this file will be
more information on becoming a Beta Site.
DEDICATE.DOC The Dedication. This is who the program is dedicated to,
this includes anybody who helped, gave suggestions, or did
anything to benefit Newuser Doorworks!.
SITES.DOC Most currently updated list of DO Doorworks Beta Sites
around the country. You can find support at any of these.
LICENSE.DOC Licensing documentation for use of the consumer.
FILES.LST Sample FILES.LST for you to edit.
ERRORS.DOC Common runtime errors and their explanations.
System requirements for running Newuser Doorworks! or ANY DO Doorwork
files is you have to be running an IBM Compatible computer with at
least 640k of RAM (Random Access Memory), a bulletin board system, a
modem, be running on COM (Communications Port) 1-4 and be running DOS
3.30 or later. You need not run a front-end mailer for this program
as it didn't care. It supports bauds 300-38.4k with the help of
DOORWAY(r) routines.

II. INSTALLATION:
Installation of Newuser Doorworks! is quite simple and takes really only
a few steps of this manual, the rest has help continually throughout the
installation (INSTALL.EXE) program. Of course, the manual helps also.
(A) First, Self-Extract the archive (NDOOR600.EXE) into the
a test directory from which you will further install Newuser
Doorworks! Usually a \TEST directory or close to that.
(B) Next, switch to the directory where you have self-extracted all
the files contained in this archive.
(C) Now type INSTALL and follow the instructions given. If you
follow these closely, you will have this program installed within
a 10 minutes or less. Please read and print out the complete
manual for further reference though.
(D) Create a batch file called NDOOR.BAT which contains all the
information for loading up the program. This file should look
like the sample one given below.
Sample NDOOR.BAT (Newuser Doorworks! Batch File):
─────────────────────────────────────────────────
@Echo Off
Copy Door.Sys C:\Bbs\Ndoor
C:
Cd \Bbs\Ndoor
Doorway Sys /V:D /B:Z /G:On /P:Ndoor.Exe
